Orlando's peace festival has been running for more than two decades, and it still behaves more like a civic project than a red carpet. Over two weeks in September, timed around September 21 and the United Nations International Day of Peace, it fills screens in Orlando, Winter Park and Maitland with documentaries, features, shorts and animation about justice, migration, the environment and the people working on them, then keeps the filmmakers in the room for the conversation afterward. Screenings spread across partner venues including Rollins College, the Winter Park Public Library and Enzian Theater, along with the AFRO TV production studios on International Drive, so a full pass doubles as a tour of the metro. Know before you go: the festival is run by Global Peace 360, a Winter Park nonprofit, with support from Orange County's Arts and Cultural Affairs program and United Arts of Central Florida. Individual tickets and passes are sold through the online festival program, and filmmaker Q&As run both in person and over Zoom.
