Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival

About this happenin
Loch Haven Park gives itself over for fourteen days each May to the oldest continuously running fringe festival in the United States, going since the early nineties. Nothing is juried. Artists draw their slots by lottery, half of them reserved for Central Florida companies, and they keep every dollar of ticket revenue. The result is roughly a thousand performances of one-person confessionals, drag, dance, puppetry, improv and musicals that would never survive a season subscription, most under an hour, so you can stack three in an evening and still make the bar on the lawn. Know before you go: ticketed shows need a Fringe Button as well as a ticket, and tickets top out at $15. The Outdoor Stage, Kids Fringe and the Visual Fringe art market are free and require no button. Free parking in the Loch Haven lot is first come, first served, with paid garages nearby on Princeton Street. Venues also spread beyond the park to Orlando Shakes and Orlando Family Stage.
