For three days the Orlando Science Center turns its four floors over to working scientists: UCF's robot dog padding around the exhibit floor, liquid nitrogen demos, F-35 flight simulators, microscope labs and Disney engineers explaining what they actually build. It's presented with UCF's Office of Research, so the people at the tables are researchers rather than booth staff, and they'll talk to a curious nine-year-old as long as you let them.
