Leesburg Bikefest
500 W Main St, Leesburg, FL 34748
About this happenin
For one weekend each April the City of Leesburg hands its downtown over to motorcycles, and Main Street fills with chrome parked wheel to wheel while the crowd moves through on foot. Leesburg police have put attendance somewhere between 150,000 and 250,000, which is how a small Lake County city ends up billing this as the world's largest three day motorcycle and music event. Two main stages carry national headliners plus more than twenty local bands, vendor tents run the length of the closed streets, and the recurring bill takes in bike shows, stunt riding and the wall of death thrill riders. A poker run signs up at Gator Harley-Davidson and finishes out at Ski Beach. Know before you go: admission is free, the rally runs Friday through Sunday, and the organiser puts on a shuttle. Main Street is closed to cars for the weekend, so sort out where you are leaving yours before you roll in.
