About this happenin
The Clermont Christmas Parade leaves Waterfront Park at 10 a.m. on a Saturday in early December and winds through Historic Downtown. Floats and marching bands carry it. Local groups can apply to join, though spaces are limited and the city approves every entry. Entries earn points for fitting the year's theme and for music, costumes, uniforms and originality. Four prizes go out: Most Festive Float, Youth Float, Performing Group and the Christmas Cruiser for best vehicle. The parade is part of Light Up Clermont, which also brings a tree lighting and street party downtown.
More in December: 19 other Orlando events.
