Since 2000, Anime Festival Orlando has drawn Central Florida's anime crowd together, and it still feels like the attendees built it. It runs Friday through Sunday at the Hyatt Regency Orlando on International Drive. The convention even stages its own live action card game, Tales of Orlandia, which plays out across the weekend with NPCs and rival factions; who wins decides the ending. The Happy Happy Cosplay GO GO GO contest takes the Main Events stage. The vendor room and Artist Alley are worth a slow lap, and elsewhere you'll find a maid cafe and rooms for tabletop and video games. In Game Show Theater, a hostess called The Countess runs quizzes for points you spend on prizes like arcade tickets. Panels and performances start as early as 10am and finish as late as 2am. Three day passes cost less the earlier you buy, and single day admission is sold for each day. Under-fives don't need either.
