More than 350 juried crafters fill the streets of downtown Mount Dora for two days each October, drawing crowds that push past 200,000 across the weekend. Booths line the brick storefronts and shaded side streets of the historic walking district, weighted toward work someone will happily explain to you: thrown pottery, forged knives, fused glass, woodwork and textiles. Live music, festival food, beer and wine, and a kids art tent run by the Mount Dora Center for the Arts fill in around the aisles. Know before you go: admission is free and the fair runs 9am to 5pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Mount Dora High School has free parking about three blocks out, and Mount Dora Christian Academy runs a shuttle for $10 per vehicle. Bring cash, since internet service is limited on site, though ATMs are set up around the grounds. Well behaved pets are allowed, but organizers would rather you left them at home.
