About this happenin
At Rhythm & Brews on the Sanford Riverwalk, the barbecue contest counts votes from the people eating it. Every May, pitmasters set up along Lake Monroe at Gateway at Riverwalk, and you buy a tasting wristband and work through the pits before casting your vote. The titles on the line are Pit Master, Pit Pro and People's Champion. Bands and DJs play the lawn through the afternoon while a free kids zone runs alongside. Meals on Wheels Etc. is one of the Seminole County charities the day raises money for. General admission is free; tasting wristbands and beverage tickets are sold separately. Things start at 10am and BBQ tasting runs to 3pm. Live music goes from 11am to 5pm, and the festival stays open until 7pm.
