About this happenin
Harry P. Leu Gardens spends most of the year as a quiet botanical retreat beside Lake Rowena. From late November into the new year, Creative City Project rewires all fifty acres into Dazzling Nights, a ticketed after-dark walk through glowing forests, tunnels of light and illuminated sculptures, with live music and acrobatic dance staged along the route and holiday food and drink at stops on the way. It lands closer to a night of installations than a drive-through light display, and the mossy old oaks do a lot of the work. Know before you go: entry is timed, with slots starting at 5:30 pm and repeating every fifteen minutes until close, and tickets are sold online only. Arrive at least fifteen minutes early for valet or on-site parking, or forty-five minutes early for the complimentary off-site lot and its Sparkling Express shuttle. Children three and under go free. Bags are checked at the gate, and the paths mix pavement, gravel and woodchip, so wear shoes you can cover fifty acres in.
