Kissimmee Festival of Lights Parade

Most of the entries in Kissimmee's Festival of Lights are local. Utility bucket trucks come buried in lights. Kids pedal bikes wrapped in bulbs, and dance troupes turn out in tinsel and toy-soldier red. The parade is free and rolls through Historic Downtown after dark each December, on a route along Broadway, Sproule Street, Church Street and Stewart Avenue, and families stake out the curb with folding chairs well before the first float appears. Downtown roads start closing at 2 pm. Free parking is at the Kissimmee Civic Center and in the Toho Square and County Courthouse garages. The holiday festival at Kissimmee City Hall opens at 4 pm with the KUA Kids Power Zone and a letters-to-Santa station, and food vendors set up for the evening. The parade steps off at 7:30 pm.
