Winter Park Christmas Parade
Park Avenue at Morse Boulevard, Winter Park, FL 32789
About this happenin
Central Florida's oldest continuous holiday parade sends more than 80 marching bands, fire engines and floats down Winter Park's brick-paved Park Avenue each December. The Winter Park Chamber of Commerce has run the "Ye Olde Hometown" parade since the 1950s, and the roster stays reliably local: high school drumlines and flag corps, scouting troops, Winter Park Fire-Rescue and police color guards, elected officials, and Santa bringing up the rear. The route heads south along Park Avenue from Cole Avenue, past the storefronts and oak canopy of the shopping district. Know before you go: watching is free, and the parade steps off Saturday morning and runs about ninety minutes. Park Avenue and several side streets close for the event, so park a few blocks off the route and walk in. Families stake out curb space and the Central Park lawn well before the start, so bring folding chairs or a blanket. Leadership Winter Park serves a ticketed pancake breakfast at the Central Park stage from 7 a.m.
