About this happenin

The booths around Lake Lily stay lit after dark, which is where the Maitland Rotary Art Festival gets its Art Under the Stars name. More than 120 juried artists set up along the path around the lake, with sculpture, glass, pottery, fiber and painting under white tents beneath the oaks, all judged for cash awards. Work by over 2,000 K-12 students from Orange and Seminole county schools is shown alongside the professionals, and there's music and food by the water. Saturday is the long day and the one worth building around. Admission is free, but the weekend still raises real money: since 1976 the Rotary Club of Maitland has passed it on to Central Florida nonprofits, more than a million dollars so far.
