Kissimmee Juneteenth Festival
201 Lakeview Drive, Kissimmee, FL 34741
About this happenin
The Kissimmee Juneteenth Festival is a free afternoon celebration of African American culture that the City of Kissimmee runs each June, most recently at Kissimmee Lakefront Park, 201 Lakeview Drive. It marks the final enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in 1865, and the city puts it on with community partners including the NAACP of Osceola County and the Black Empowerment Community Council. Live music is the backbone of the afternoon. Food and craft vendors fill out the park, and the Kissimmee Utility Authority runs the KUA Kids Power Zone. There are giveaways as well. Admission is free. The most recent edition ran from noon to 4 p.m. on a Saturday in mid June, so check the city's event page for the date and location in the weeks before it happens. The city's events division answers questions at 407-518-2503.
