Rows of white tents ring Lake Eola twice a year for Fiesta in the Park, the first weekend of April and the first full weekend of November. Hundreds of artist and crafter booths line the closed streets and lakefront paths, selling handmade jewelry, painting, woodwork and ceramics. Live entertainment plays on the lawn, and there's a children's zone of games and crafts. A volunteer committee has staged the festival since the early 1970s. Both the spring and fall editions are free, and each day runs 10am to 5pm. Food vendors and food trucks are on site, along with desserts and cold drinks, so lunch is covered. Expect leashed dogs throughout, since the festival is pet friendly. Organizers point drivers to the downtown garages, and the Library Garage at 112 East Central Boulevard is the closest walk in.
