Sunnyland Antique Boat Festival

About a hundred antique and classic boats tie up along a third of a mile of Lake Dora waterfront at Wooton Park in Tavares over a weekend each March. The Sunnyland Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society, which runs the show, calls it the largest event of its kind on the East Coast. Three days cost $10, and children 12 and under get in free with a paying adult. The show opens Friday at 9 and wraps up at noon on Sunday. Saturday has an opening ceremony at 9 and an Amphicar display and parade, and seaplane rides are sold separately. The grounds also hold a nautical flea market, a Field of Dreams lot of antique boats for sale, a food court and a beer garden. Park free in the Tavares city garage two blocks away and ride the shuttle on Saturday. Leashed pets are welcome.
