Central Florida Scottish Highland Games
1000 Central Winds Dr, Winter Springs, FL 32708
About this happenin
Kilted heavy athletes throwing the caber and the hammer, massed pipe bands taking the field together, and clan tents ranged around the grounds: the Central Florida Scottish Highland Games has filled Central Winds Park in Winter Springs every January for more than four decades. The Scottish-American Society of Central Florida spreads it across two days, adding Highland and Scottish country dancing, border collie demonstrations, kids games, two music stages, a whisky tasting, and a shortbread and scones competition. Know before you go: the grounds open Saturday at 8am and run to 9pm, with Sunday 8:45am to 5pm. Discounted advance tickets are sold online through December 31, and children five and under enter free. Free shuttle buses run from satellite parking at Winter Springs Elementary School and The Foundry Church. The games go ahead rain or shine, with no ticket refunds. Leave pets at home, since only trained service dogs are admitted, and drones are not allowed.
