Owners line up more than 300 cars along the lakefront on Market Street in Celebration for the free Saturday concours of the Celebration Exotic Car Festival: exotics and race cars, with Hollywood movie cars among them. At the 2:30pm awards, winners drive across a red carpet in the middle of town to collect their trophies. More than 40,000 spectators come over the five days, which also hold ticketed events: a Friday concert and dinner, a Saturday-night gala at the Waldorf Astoria, a Sunday rally with a police escort, and two track days at Daytona International Speedway, where spectators pay $20 a day to walk the paddock and garages. Jeff and Jim Ippoliti started the festival in 2004 in memory of Laura Ippoliti, a Ferrari enthusiast who died in an accident in 2001 at 32. Volunteers run it with no paid staff, so net proceeds go to Make-A-Wish and other children's charities, more than $8 million so far.
