Thousands of alligators live at Gatorland, which Owen Godwin opened on old cattle land along South Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando in 1949. The Godwin family still owns it, and…

Oh, What Fun! fills Lake Nona Town Center and Boxi Park with a holiday festival on December weekends, with an evergreen tree trail running out to the Lake Nona Wave Hotel. Lake Nona partners compete to decorate the trees along it, so every tree is somebody's entry. In Town Center, little cottages hold a holiday market with rotating vendors selling giftable crafts, and a 24-foot centerpiece tree and ornaments big enough to walk through are the photo spots. Boxi Park adds live music and a Kids Zone on holiday weekends, and the sculpture garden at the Wave Hotel pours spiked hot chocolate for the grown-ups. Santa's Cottage, with story time and a sing-along from Santa and Mrs. Claus, takes reservations. The festival itself needs no ticket, and parking in the Town Center garages is free. One evening moves to Crescent Park, where guests are invited to decorate a golf cart and drive over.
