Christmas in the Park

The Morse Museum carries seven century-old Tiffany leaded-glass windows out of its galleries one December evening and stands them in the north end of Winter Park's Central Park. A signal at 6:15 p.m. lights them, and beneath the glass the Bach Festival Society's Choir and Youth Choir sing and its Brass Ensemble plays. Tiffany Studios made the windows as memorials for a New York chapel. Hugh and Jeannette McKean bought them in 1974, and they have been shown outdoors this way since 1979. The singing ends around 8 p.m., and the glass stays lit until 8:30. It's free. Blankets and lawn chairs may be set up from 4 p.m., once the windows are installed, but tables are not allowed. The lawn is near Garfield and Park avenues, about a block from the museum and a short walk from the SunRail station. The museum has its own lot.
