On the grass beside Orlando Executive Airport, more than 200 vegan vendors set up at Orlando Festival Park for one Saturday each October. Central Florida Veg Fest is run by Vegetarians of Central Florida, and while it's one of the longest running vegan festivals anywhere, it's aimed as much at the curious as at committed vegans. Restaurant booths and packaged goods share the field with food demos and speakers, an acoustic music stage, a veggie kids zone and an artist corner. In the animal haven, rescues bring adoptable dogs and cats. Getting in is free, and the hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Disabled parking off Celebration Street is free with a placard, and there's fencing to lock bikes to. Dogs are welcome, but alcohol and smoking aren't. The organizers ask you to bring your own reusable containers and cutlery.
