Tour buses roll in from both coasts each February for Mount Dora's arts festival, because it consistently ranks among the country's strongest for artist sales. Around 300 juried artists pitch white tents on the brick streets downtown, with painting, sculpture, clay, photography, fiber and fine jewelry side by side. Live music plays in Donnelly Park, and food vendors and drink kiosks are scattered through the grounds. The Mount Dora Center for the Arts runs the whole thing. Downtown streets close, so parking is tight, and a free shuttle runs from Mount Dora Christian Academy on West 13th Avenue. Residents often rent out yard parking for a fee, and accessible spaces are behind City Hall on North Baker Street. Nobody charges admission, though you'll pass donation boxes around the grounds. Bring cash; ATMs are on site. Well-behaved pets are allowed, though organizers suggest leaving them home. Hours are 9am to 5pm Saturday and 9am to 4pm Sunday.
