Día de los Reyes lands at Old Town in Kissimmee on a Sunday in early January, when the Osceola Chamber hands the pedestrian strip over to three men in embroidered velvet robes and jeweled crowns who pose for photos by the hubcap Christmas tree and arrive with live camels children can walk up to and feed. Live music carries down the walk, community booths fill the lot, and the giveaways are the point rather than the garnish: toys for children, Orlando Magic basketballs, and raffles for bicycles and tablets running through the morning. It is the Orlando area's main Epiphany celebration and a real Osceola County tradition, rooted in the county's Puerto Rican community and squarely aimed at kids. Know before you go: the celebration runs 10am to 2pm, admission is free and the chamber lists free parking. Free hot dogs, popcorn and snow cones are served while supplies last. Arrive early if the camels and photos with the Kings are your reason for coming.
