About this happenin
The German American Society of Central Florida has poured Oktoberfest beer in Casselberry since 1963, and its Biergarten still runs on club volunteers rather than a promoter's playbook. Warsteiner, Paulaner and Hofbräu flow from taps set around the grounds, the kitchen turns out schnitzel, bratwurst, potato pancakes and strudel, and live bands and the club's own dancers in Tracht keep things moving outside in the Biergarten and inside the Alpine-themed clubhouse, which is air conditioned and has a full bar for anyone skipping the beer. Know before you go: the festival takes two Saturdays in October, noon to 9 pm. Advance tickets bought online cost less than admission at the gate, and children 11 and under get in free with no ticket needed. The club provides no parking of its own, so count on nearby private lots or a rideshare drop-off. There are two entrances, Orange Lane and Melody Lane; Melody Lane is the easier drop-off and is walk-in only.
