About this happenin
Since 1963 the German American Society of Central Florida has poured Oktoberfest beer in Casselberry, and club volunteers still run its Biergarten. Warsteiner and Paulaner flow from taps set around the grounds, and the kitchen turns out schnitzel, bratwurst, potato pancakes and strudel. Live bands play and the club's own dancers perform in Tracht, outside in the Biergarten and inside the Alpine-themed clubhouse, which is air conditioned and has a full bar for anyone skipping the beer. The festival takes two Saturdays in October, noon to 9 pm. Advance tickets bought online cost less than admission at the gate, and children 11 and under need no ticket at all. The club has no parking of its own, so count on nearby private lots or a rideshare drop-off. Of the two entrances, Orange Lane and Melody Lane, Melody Lane is the easier drop-off and is walk-in only.
