About this happenin

The Sanford Juneteenth Block Party takes over the Sanford Civic Center at 401 E. Seminole Blvd. every June. Sanford and Orlando Entertainment, a Sanford nonprofit, runs the event. Recent editions have run from late afternoon until 9 or 10pm, so plan on an evening out. A live stage carries singers backed by a band, with a DJ filling the gaps between sets. Vendor tents line the street selling fried fish, cookies, jewelry and T-shirts. People dance on the grass, and line dancing starts up whenever the right song comes on.
