Ten days each February, Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee pairs 4-H and FFA livestock shows with a full carnival midway for the Osceola County Fair. The Kissimmee Valley Livestock Show, a nonprofit, puts it on, and its volunteers hand back more than $50,000 a year in awards to Osceola County kids. Through the week the Pavilion Arena runs steer and hog shows alongside the lambs, all building toward the market animal auction. Evenings go to the demolition derby, truck and tractor pulls, whip cracking, pageants and live bands. Racing pigs and dog acts rotate through the grounds, and there's a petting zoo. Gate admission has run about $10 for ages 12 and up and $5 for seniors 60 and over and children 5 to 11. Kids 4 and under are always free, and ride wristbands cost extra. Each of the ten days has its own theme and gate promotion, and the daily schedule shows which are student days and which are canned food nights. The main entrance is off Bill Beck Boulevard.
