About this happenin
Pig on the Pond has been South Lake County's biggest community festival for more than two decades, filling Clermont's Waterfront Park with barbecue smoke, a carnival midway and fireworks over Lake Minneola. Pitmasters and food vendors work the lakefront, bands play the main stage, and the weekend makes room for pig racing, dachshund racing, a student Junior Grillmasters cook-off, free kids activities and a quiet sensory reset tent. Project Scholars runs it, turning gate proceeds into $10,000 scholarships for south Lake County students. Know before you go: the festival opens Friday evening and runs through Sunday afternoon, with Saturday the long day. General admission is a few dollars a head, cheaper bought in advance, with reduced children's tickets and separate all-you-can-ride wristbands sold by the day. Parking at Waterfront Park is limited and nearby residential streets are off limits, so use one of the free shuttle lots, among them Lake Hiawatha Preserve and the Clermont Park and Ride. Accessible parking is through the East Avenue entrance. ATMs are on site and leashed dogs are welcome.
