Fiesta Calle Orange closes ten blocks of Orange Avenue in downtown Orlando for Central Florida's largest Hispanic heritage festival, a street party running for more than two decades. Three themed streets each carry their own stage, so salsa, merengue and bachata play a block from a throwback stage spinning freestyle and hip hop. Ballet folklorico dancers turn on the closed asphalt, a car and motorcycle show fills a side street, and vendors line the route with Puerto Rican, Colombian, Venezuelan and Mexican food. Know before you go: the festival takes a Sunday from noon to 10 p.m. General admission covers all three stages, and VIP seating is sold separately by stage. Gate admission costs less before 2 p.m. than after, children 12 and under enter free, and buying online in advance is cheaper still. Streets close before dawn and stay shut until 2 a.m. Sunday while LYNX bus routes detour around the closures, so plan on parking outside the closed streets and walking in. Ten hours outdoors on pavement means shade and comfortable shoes earn their keep.
