Orlando Carnival Downtown brings mas bands, soca and Caribbean cooking to Camping World Stadium every Memorial Day weekend, as it has since the late 1980s. The Caribbean American Passport Foundation runs it, and the weekend keeps a steady shape: a Friday costume showcase called Carnival on the Runway, a Saturday morning J'ouvert built on paint, powder and water, and a Sunday Mas Band Parade and Concert as the centerpiece. Know before you go: the Sunday parade steps off outside the stadium around midday and moves inside in the early afternoon, followed by a street festival of Caribbean food and craft vendors and stage sets running late. Admission has varied by edition, from ticketed years to free entry with advance registration, so check the current listing. Parking uses the stadium's lettered and numbered lots, sold in advance through Ticketmaster, with ADA spaces in Lot 6. For J'ouvert, wear shoes and clothes you are willing to ruin.
