Twenty-odd plein air painters set up around Winter Park for a week each April, and the 19th run is April 18 to 24. Watching is free and so are the demonstrations, but the reason to go is the wet room at the Albin Polasek Museum: finished canvases go on the wall the same day they're painted, still tacky, and you can buy one on the spot. Go midweek in the morning, when the artists are actually outside working in the sculpture gardens instead of packing up. The flash sale at the end of the week clears more than 200 paintings, and the museum takes a cut of every one.
