Mount Dora Blueberry Festival
530 N. Donnelly St, Mount Dora, FL 32757
About this happenin
The Mount Dora Blueberry Festival takes over Donnelly Park each spring, when Lake County growers bring just-picked berries downtown alongside pies, crafts and live music. More than a hundred vendors fill the park with farm stands, blueberry jams and baked goods, food booths and blueberry beer and wine for anyone who wants the fruit in a glass. Culinary arts students from Umatilla High School bake the fresh pies, and the pie eating contest pulls a crowd with separate youth and adult heats. Know before you go: admission is free and the festival runs 9am to 5pm both days. The blueberry pancake breakfast is served through the morning and needs a ticket. The pie eating contest starts at 2pm, with sign ups closing an hour before. Downtown lots are small, so most visitors use the paid lot at 900 N. Lincoln Avenue, which includes a free round trip shuttle and supports Kiwanis scholarships. Well behaved pets are allowed but discouraged in the crowds.
