Fireworks go up over Lake Eola at 9:10 p.m., scored live by the Orlando Concert Band, with the downtown skyline right behind the show. The illuminated fountain at the center of the lake is the one the event is named for, and the park is where Orlando spends Independence Day. Admission is free. Live entertainment starts at 4 p.m. and the festivities run until 10, with the band's patriotic set at 8. Local food and drink vendors set up around the lake, and kids get a family zone of their own. Road closures around the lake cover Eola Drive and Rosalind Avenue, and stretches of Robinson Street and Central Boulevard. The ways in are LYNX buses, rideshare, bikes, and the free LYMMO circulator from a downtown garage. Bring water and sunscreen. An umbrella handles either July heat or a passing storm.
