Every paid admission to the Mount Dora Corn Festival comes with Zellwood sweet corn, shucked and grilled by the crate in Elizabeth Evans Park. It's grown at Long & Scott Farms just up the road and picked the morning of the festival. Eating contests come in fastest and spiciest heats. A cornbread cook-off pits home bakers against local businesses, and a Corn King and Queen get crowned. Cornhole, a petting zoo, a kids' area and corn-themed food vendors fill in around it, with live country music on the lakefront and fireworks over Lake Dora. Advance tickets run about $20 for adults and roughly half that for ages 4 to 9 (free for 3 and under). Prices go up at the gate. The city runs free shuttle parking for the festival, and the festival site lists the current pickup spot.
