The CommUNITY Rainbow Run is a 4.9K run and morning festival that the City of Orlando holds each June at Orlando City Hall Plaza, 400 South Orange Avenue, to honor the 49 people killed at Pulse nightclub on June 12, 2016. UCF graduate students started the race in 2017. The route has changed over the years and has run past the Pulse site on Orange Avenue. Net proceeds go to the Orlando United Pulse Memorial. Registration and the festival open at 6 a.m., and the race has gone off at 7:30. A kids fun run has followed at 9, and the festival has wrapped up at 10. Adult entry for the 4.9K has been $49 and the kids run $5, and a virtual 4.9K lets people take part from anywhere. Bibs and shirts are handed out at Track Shack on North Mills Avenue in the days before, so bring your QR check-in pass or a photo ID.
