Red Hot & Boom fills Cranes Roost Park in Altamonte Springs with live music, food vendors and one of Central Florida's largest fireworks shows every July 3. The finale is choreographed to music through the park's sound system and doubles in the reflection off Cranes Roost Lake, so the lawn ringing the water fills first. Attendance runs into the hundreds of thousands, and roads around Uptown Altamonte close to absorb it. Know before you go: admission is free, with food and drink sold on site and a beer garden for ages 21 and up with valid ID. The event runs from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., with fireworks at roughly 9:30 p.m., weather permitting. Park at the Altamonte Mall and nearby lots and walk in. Bring a blanket or folding chairs and a soft-sided cooler with a shoulder strap. Wheeled or oversized coolers, glass, alcohol, grills, personal fireworks and drones are turned away, and pets are barred from the park from 7 a.m. on event day.
