The food court alone covers 16,000 square feet at the Orlando Tet Festival, where lion and dragon dancing and firecracker showers mark Lunar New Year at the Central Florida Fairgrounds, out on Colonial Drive west of the Mills 50 shops that anchor Vietnamese Orlando. The stalls sell banh mi, spring rolls, noodle bowls and sweets. There are martial arts demonstrations, and the Saturday night variety concert is built around singers from Vietnam and the Vietnamese American music scene. Both days open at 10 a.m., and neither charges admission. Saturday runs past midnight for the concert. On Sunday, St. Philip Phan Van Minh Catholic Parish, which runs the festival under its Vietnamese name, Hoi Tet Ve Nguon, holds a morning Mass on the grounds, and things close at 5 p.m. Kids get a games area with bounce houses and carnival games. Vendors take cash and cards. Much of the festival sits on open grass, so dress for standing outdoors.
