Apopka Art & Foliage Festival
10 N Forest Ave, Apopka, FL 32703
About this happenin
The Apopka Art and Foliage Festival fills Kit Land Nelson Park with juried artists, crafters and Central Florida foliage growers over one spring weekend. The GFWC Apopka Woman's Club has run it alongside the City of Apopka for more than sixty years, and the mix holds steady: paintings, photography, pottery, jewelry, woodworking and candles in the artist tents, specialty plants from the nurseries that built Apopka's foliage trade. Plant Doctors take garden questions, school art goes on display, music plays at the gazebo, and there is a wine and beer garden plus a kids zone presented by Home Depot. Know before you go: admission is free, and parking at Edwards Field costs a few dollars that go to a local Boy Scout troop. Saturday runs 9 am to 5 pm, Sunday 10 am to 4 pm. A plant sitter booth minds your purchases for a small fee while you keep shopping, so bring cash and something sturdy to carry plants in.
