Asian Cultural Festival

About this happenin
The Asian Cultural Festival fills Ocoee's Lakeshore Center and Bill Breeze Park with lion dances, taiko drumming and food from nine Asian communities. Run by the Asian American Heritage Council of Central Florida during Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, it draws performers and vendors representing China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. Cultural performances take the indoor stage at the Lakeshore Center, from fan dances and kung fu demonstrations to K-pop, while food and craft vendors set up on the park lawns outside. Proceeds support the council's Asian American Student Achiever Award scholarship for local students. Know before you go: admission is free. It is a one-day event in mid-May, but the hours have shifted between editions, with recent years starting at 11 a.m. and at 3 p.m., so check the council's page before heading out.
