Uptown Art Expo

About this happenin

Street painters chalk the park sidewalks at Cranes Roost Lake in Altamonte Springs all weekend, and you vote for a favorite, so a piece you watch start Saturday morning is finished by Sunday afternoon. The Uptown Art Expo puts more than 140 artists around the lake for that March weekend, showing glass, jewelry, pottery, photography and painting. Walking in is free, and so is parking in the Altamonte Mall lot. Saturday's concert runs 6 to 10 in the amphitheater bowl, and it's blankets or cushions only, no outside chairs. Cousins Maine Lobster and Papa Diesel BBQ join a dozen more trucks for dinner.

More in March: 10 other Orlando events.
