Braised lamb and pastitsio come out of the kitchen at Clearwater GreekFest, along with plaki, Greek chicken with garlic and lemon, gyros and souvlaki from the taverna line, loukoumathes, frappé and baklava sundaes, and there's a pastry booth in the gym. It's held on the grounds of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church on South Old Coachman Road, and it's the parish's biggest public fundraiser and one of Pinellas County's oldest cultural celebrations. The festival runs three days: 11am to 11pm on Friday and Saturday, and a shorter noon to 6pm on Sunday. Guided tours of the Byzantine sanctuary and cooking demonstrations are scheduled through the afternoon. The Jr. and Sr. Hellas Dancers perform, and there's the Opa Party Tent and a marketplace of jewelry and imports.
