The Tampa Bay Rodeo gets two nights at the Hillsborough County Fairgrounds in Dover, and its barrel racers run the same arena dirt as the bull riders and bronco busters. Alongside the arena, a family festival stacks up mechanical bull rides, axe throwing, bungee trampolines, monster truck rides and up-close time with goats and camels. Food stands sell barbecue and Cuban sandwiches. Saturday nights here tend to sell out, so buy tickets ahead at tamparodeo.com. Gates open at 5 p.m. both Friday and Saturday, rain or shine, and the rodeo starts at 7:30 p.m.
