Old Salt Fall King of the Beach Kingfish Tournament
200 Rex Place, Madeira Beach, FL 33708
About this happenin
Each November, Madeira Beach hands its waterfront over to the Old Salt Fall King of the Beach, a king mackerel tournament with a three-night festival wrapped around it. Hundreds of boats chase kings and Spanish mackerel offshore, then run back to the Madeira Beach Recreation Complex, where the scales and a crown wait on stage. Onshore it plays as a small county fair with a saltwater accent: live reggae and rock bands, a kids zone, carnival games, a mullet toss, axe throwing, a cast net competition, local food vendors, beer, boat displays from area dealers, and fireworks on Saturday night. Know before you go: gates open at 5pm on the first two evenings and the music runs to about 9. Saturday starts mid afternoon and stays open until 10, with the weigh-in and the crowning of the King the reason to be there. Old Salt posts a festival parking map for the complex, and teams register in advance through the foundation's site.
