The shortest route is a flat 10-mile lakeside spin and the longest a metric century that climbs Sugarloaf Mountain, so a first-timer and a century rider can start in the same field. The Mount Dora Bicycle Festival puts on two mornings of supported group rides through the hills of Lake County each autumn. Routes are marked and rest stops stocked. Registration covers lunch, which waits back at Gilbert Park both days. Rides leave Gilbert Park, 310 S. Tremain Street, at 7:30 a.m. rain or shine, with check-in from 6 a.m. and announcements at 7:15. Prices are set by route and go up as the weekend nears, and the fee buys a shirt and a finisher medal. Riders 15 and under are free with a registered adult. Rest stops refill bottles but don't pour cups, so bring your own. There's tent and RV camping at nearby Trimble Park.
