National Fried Chicken Festival

About this happenin
The National Fried Chicken Festival puts restaurant booths and music stages on the New Orleans Lakefront beside UNO Lakefront Arena each fall. It began in 2016, and USA Today's 10Best readers ranked it sixth among specialty food festivals in 2024. General admission covers entry only, so every plate and drink is bought inside, and the festival is fully cashless: bring a card or Cash App. VIP and a 21+ Beer Garden are sold as upgrades. Children 12 and under get in free with a ticketed adult, up to two per adult. It runs rain or shine. Wagons, coolers, outside food and pets are not allowed, though folding chairs, blankets, strollers and sealed water bottles are fine. Parking is first come, first served in two lots, and the Lakeshore Drive lot has a free shuttle to the gate. Menus go beyond the plain bird, with vegetarian and vegan plates marked on the festival's restaurant list, and pescatarian ones too.
More in October: 14 other New Orleans events.
