The Redland International Orchid Festival is run by Redland Professional Orchid Growers at Fruit & Spice Park, the Miami-Dade County tropical garden in Redland. American Orchid Society judges score the flowering plants entered in the bench show, and the best one is named Grand Champion. Food vendors sit along a path through the park, and ticket holders can enter raffles for orchid plants. Discounted presale tickets are sold on the festival's site. Everything is outdoors. Growers from overseas and from the nurseries down the road put up tents across the lawns and sell both rare and affordable orchids. Many of the overseas growers don't take cards, so carry cash.
