Very large yellow poplars and yellow buckeyes stand in Sosebee Cove, 175 acres of north-facing forest on GA 180 south of Blairsville. Plenty of visitors take it for old growth, though the Forest Service calls it maturing second growth. The trail through it honors Arthur Woody, the ranger who negotiated the cove's purchase and is credited with bringing deer back to the North Georgia mountains.
