Parishioners at St. Stefanos Greek Orthodox Church cook the moussaka, pastitsio, dolmades and braised lamb shank for three days on the church's west St. Petersburg grounds. The grill line turns out gyros and souvlaki. Its Greek fries come with oregano and feta, and the pastry counter sells baklava and koulourakia by the box. Indoors, a live Greek band plays and the parish youth and adult dance troupes perform; outside, a covered tent runs a DJ. Free Greek dance and language lessons run several times a day, and the church opens for guided tours. Admission is $3 per person for the whole day, and free for children 10 and under and for active military, veterans, law enforcement and fire personnel. Parking on site is free, with accessible spaces and volunteers directing overflow. A Kids Zone keeps younger visitors busy. Hours are 11 am to 10 pm Friday and Saturday and 11 am to 6 pm Sunday, rain or shine. Leave pets at home; service animals are welcome.
