Tampa Greek Festival

Dance troupes of every age, down to toddlers, perform in costume from the mainland and the islands at the Tampa Greek Festival. A bouzouki-led band plays the Grand Hall and the outdoor party tent, and hot loukoumades come out of the fryer drizzled with honey and nuts. St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church holds the festival on its Swann Avenue campus, and you can tour the original church with the parish choir. A market sells Greek and Mediterranean provisions, icons, books and jewelry. The festival usually opens Friday afternoon and runs all day Saturday, closing at 10pm both nights. Takeout can be ordered online for curbside pickup. Parking is on campus and in satellite lots, with a map at parking.tampagreekfestival.com, and rideshare drop-off is in the rear lot off South Moody Avenue. The campus is wheelchair accessible and has a separate Kids Zone. Only leashed service dogs are allowed, and only outdoors.
