Live Celtic music runs all day at Highlander Park in Dunedin on a Saturday in November, rain or shine. The City of Dunedin Pipe Band plays the main stage alongside regional and international artists, and a full pipe band at volume is worth planning the afternoon around. Guinness, Harp and Smithwick's are on draft, alongside domestic beer, seltzers and wine. The Dunedin Scottish Arts Foundation runs it, and the proceeds support the city's Scottish arts programs, including music and Highland dancing. The music runs 11am to 7pm. Tickets are $20 in advance and $27 at the gate. Children 12 and under are free, as is parking. Tents and coolers are not allowed, and the only animals welcome are service animals.
