About

Caladesi Island is a 20-minute ferry ride from Honeymoon Island State Park in Dunedin, and the boats run on a schedule built around a four-hour stay. You pay to park at Honeymoon Island and buy the ferry ticket separately. Chairs and coolers can ride along, but beach carts and wagons can't. Inland, a 2.5-mile trail runs through slash pine to the site of the Scharrer family homestead. At low tide you can also walk or wade over from Clearwater Beach, a long way on foot.
