Boo at the Zoo (Audubon Zoo)
6500 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70118
About this happenin
Children 12 and under trick-or-treat their way around Audubon Zoo in New Orleans during Boo at the Zoo, a Halloween weekend each October. Candy stations are spread across the grounds and the animals are still part of the day. Costumes are encouraged, and Saturday and Sunday add a haunted house. Li'l Boo Friday is aimed at younger kids and priced lower, with activities until 5 p.m. and an outdoor movie after. The zoo stays open until 6:30 p.m. that day. The classic daytime version runs Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and last entry is 4 p.m. every day. Tickets are per person and good for one day only. Children under 2 get in free and Audubon members pay less. SNAP cardholders can buy a reduced ticket on site with a valid card and a New Orleans ID. Proceeds go to Manning Family Children's and Audubon Zoo. The zoo says any palm oil in the candy it hands out is sustainable, to help orangutans in the wild.
More in October: 14 other New Orleans events.
